Getting Featured

There are exciting things happening with modern distillation, so pull up a stool and indulge.

With the 40+ years of collective experience we have at the OudBar we’ve smelled thousands upon thousands of distillations, but in no way claim to have smelled them all…

Ensar Oud led the contemporary oud renaissance, and now that the art has been revived, the OudBar collaborative has begun. 

As new artisans are emerging and as they find their unique signature through their chosen medium of expression they don’t necessarily have a platform, so in the interest of supporting the up and coming artists and the OG’s with discerning skills, we’re opening our doors. 

We have many distillers lined up to be featured, and if you would like to collaborate at the OudBar, below are a few basic criteria. 

As an artisan you must meet the following criteria: 

• You must be conscientious of quality, using only the best incense grade oud wood. 

• No white wood, ‘lu’ or ‘bouya’ can be used within the distillation process. 

• No softening agents or ‘pre-distillation chemical treatment’ can be used, only controlled water soaks, if used to benefit the theme of the profile.

• You must be the distiller yourself, not a factory. 

• You must produce oud oil of discerning quality
  
• Have a willingness to submit your samples for assessment

This is an open invite to all artisans, a new chapter in the history of artisanal oud.
