In this collaboration with Mr. Nhek, Big Fire got squeezed from a batch of Cambodian agarwood collected from across the country.
If you like oud that’s boozy, oud with a sweet muskiness that darts through layers of creamy resin, then a fat swipe of Big Fire is the way to go!
All round, this is a super accessible oud (no funky twang or strong over-fermented notes) that smells of the outdoors. Tents set up around a comforting fire, steak on the grill, BBQ smoke dancing with with the pine sweet air, the scent of moist dew on rich earth; all of it sown together into nature’s most intricate olfactory brew.
Thanks to the custom-designed distillery this was distilled in, Big Fire is lush with a resinous incense note, yet the profile is delicately sweet and earthy the way Cambodian ouds are often not.
Ideal as a casual oud to swipe anytime anywhere. I recommend taking it along on an outdoors trip, where the open air opens up different facets of the fragrance you won’t necessarily pick up otherwise.
At the same time, for those times when you’re stuck indoors, Big Fire brings the fresh petrichor sweetness into your home. A whiff soothes like a fresh breeze along the hiking trail and shifts your headspace when you need a reboot.
